Summer Camp 2011
This year we had an amazing time at Summer Camp, which took place in Class Three instead of Crece.
Our tennis expert, James was on hand during weeks one and six, to guide us through our tennis skills and teach us some fantastic games and tricks so we could develop at our own pace. Olivia and Annabel were particularly pleased as James brought a mini-net especially for the Early Years children.
Inside, we had fun baking Viking bread and making Marzipan, as part of our History week, we also made Roman shields and helmets and re-enacted a battle at break, although we were riding scooters not horses. Moving to an Egyptian theme, Mrs. Fraser made playdough and we created mummies out of it, while Charlie had great fun playing with the Playmobile pyramid.
During a languages week, we learned how to say some colours and numbers in French, Spanish and German and Miss Belasova taught us some words in Slovac, her native language.
Science week was one of the best weeks of the whole camp. The race was on between Oliver from Year 6 and Jacob from Year 4, to see who could assemble an interactive skeleton the fastest on the whiteboard and Olivia enjoyed playing with the magnetic bones and muscles. On top of that, we made flubber and cornflour goo and dissected our own online frogs. We were a bit disappointed when Mrs. Fraser told us they wouldn't be real frogs but, once we had performed the dissection, we were a little relieved that they hadn't been real. For photographs of the summer camp please see our gallery.
We will all be back for the October Halloween Camp and the Christmas Camp, so get planning! Come and join us, it's so much fun.
