Class 6 visit to London

On Tuesday 2nd March Class Six had the opportunity of visiting The Royal Academy of Arts and the National Gallery in London. On arrival at the Royal Academy they were greeted by one of the educators who took the children on a tour of the exhibition "The Real Van Gogh". It is forty years since an exhibition of Van Gogh's work has graced these shores and it proved to be a wonderful experience for both children and staff. Following this viewing the pupils will be working on this theme back at school.

Before heading off in the direction of the National Gallery we stopped at the famous landmark St. Martin's in the Field where the children were able to participate in a "brass rubbing activity". This work will be displayed during the latter part of term for your perusal.

We concluded our visit to London at The National Gallery where we participated in the "Take One Picture" session. The children responded admirably and were also complemented on their impeccable behaviour. A wonderful day was had by all with glorious sunshine to add to a perfect day.
