On Monday March 8th the children from Classes two to six were involved with the Young Shakespeare Company and their production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
Children were chosen to act out key roles, while the actors from the company moved the action along in their unique style. The four lovers were chosen from the children, Georgina as Hermia, Robert as Lysander, James as Demetrius and Kaite as Helena.
Children from Class Two, Three and Four were chosen to play the roles of Titania's fiary helpers. Libby as Moth, Olivia as Peaseblossom, Richard as Mustardseed and Archie as Cobweb. Duke Theseus was played by Freddy, Hippolita was played by Eli and Aegeus was played by Cameron.
The story starts on the eve of the wedding between Duke Theseus and Hippolita, when Ageus, Hermia's father bursts in to ask Duke Theseus to command Hernia to marry Demetrius instead of Lysander. The lovers all run into the forest, where the fairies cast spells on them.
An entertaining comedy enjoyed by all the children. We can't wait for next year!
